Lake Geneva Schools' has taken the best parts of both Jump Start Summer School and Summer Enrichment to create a new offering, Kids' Academy! While at Kids' Academy, students will enjoy a variety of engaging academic classes as well as enrichment experiences. Students are bound to have a great time while engaged in learning!
This program is FREE* to Lake Geneva Joint #1 students and families that reside in the Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District. Non-district/resident students can attend for a fee. All children will receive breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack.
*$50 supply fee for each session for all participants.
There will be NO August summer school! The YMCA offers a Traditional Summer Camp from June 10th to August 16th. Click here to learn more about the YMCA Summer Programs.
Kids' Academy 5K to 5th Grade
Students entering into 5K to 5th grade can participate in TWO 2-Week Sessions. All classes are from Monday to Friday at 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. and will be located at Central-Denison Elementary School. Wrap-around care is available through the YMCA from 7 a.m. - 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. - 6 p.m (wrap-around care is an additional fee). There is NO August Summer School. Bus transportation is available from designated locations for the 5K to 5th Grade Kids' Academy students.

Kids' Academy 6th to 8th Grade
Students entering into 6th to 8th grade can participate in a ONE 3-week session. All classes are from Monday to Friday at 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and will be located at Lake Geneva Middle School. There is NO August Summer School.

Half-Day Enrichment Activities:
The Kids’ Academy program offers a half-day schedule packed with engaging, enrichment activities. From hands-on projects to interactive lessons, your child will have the opportunity to explore new interests and develop skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Field Trips and Engaging Activities:
We understand the importance of learning beyond the classroom. Kids’ Academy will include enriching field trips and engaging activities, providing your child with memorable experiences that go beyond traditional academics.
Smooth Transition to Middle School for Incoming 6th Graders:
Kids’ Academy is not just about fun and games; it's designed to ease the transition to middle school. Through exposure to the middle school building, interactions with future staff, and collaborative activities, your child will gain familiarity, confidence, and comfort with the upcoming changes.
Building Confidence:
Confidence is key to a successful transition. Kids’ Academy will focus on activities that empower your child, helping them to build the confidence needed to navigate the challenges and opportunities that come with entering middle school.
Peer Interaction and a Fun Time:
A crucial aspect of the Kids’ Academy program is the opportunity for your child to spend quality time with future peers. Through team-building exercises, group activities, and shared experiences, we aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where friendships can flourish.
We understand that this is a significant milestone for both you and your child, and our goal with the Kids’ Academy program is to make this transition as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

FOOD SERVICES
Breakfast and Lunch are available for FREE through the Summer Food Service Program. A snack will also be provided.
SUPPLY FEE
All participates pay a $50 per session supply fee. Please note that this is a non-refundable supply fee and will be required at the time of registration. If you cancel, for any reason, the $50 per session fee will not be returned.
PARTICIPATION FEE
FREE to all Lake Geneva Joint #1 students and residents of Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District. Non-District/Resident Students: $400 per session (in addition to the supply fee)
